At first glance, resume wording seems like a no-brainer, but there are a few things you need to pay attention to in terms of form, design, and content in order to convince a recruiter of you. You can learn more about this in this section.

What are the formalities of a resume?

As already mentioned, there are a few formalities that must be followed when writing a resume so that the recruiter perceives it positively and is ready to consider the rest of your application.


The correct and structured structure of your previous career is extremely important. Do this in reverse chronological order, which means you list your current or most recent activity first, then go back in time. The reader sees the most up-to-date information at a glance, and only it is relevant for your application. Follow this order for each area you have formed on your resume.

This means listing the qualifications you have acquired at the relevant station, such as your most recent job, in brief paragraphs and showing the HR manager which skills you can already demonstrate. Always use consistent writing and structure for design and layout.


How detailed your resume should be depends, of course, on your experience and your previous career. However, it is important not to get too distracted and briefly and concisely state only the most important things so that the HR manager can already see if your qualifications correspond to the mentioned position. You should omit data and information that is not particularly relevant to the position, or include it very briefly. The ending

Your signature, date and place are at the end of each resume. The signature must be written by hand. If you are sending the document as a PDF file, you can either scan and insert your signature, or print the resume, sign it, and finally scan it in its entirety.

What should be included in my resume?

There are certain must-have details for a resume that you definitely shouldn’t forget. There is also information that is voluntary but still welcome.

The reason for this is the General Equal Treatment Act, which now also allows anonymous applications. This is to ensure that applicants are not at a disadvantage during the application process due to their appearance, nationality, or religion.
